Textiles/Fiber Art

I have been stitching since I remember working at my Nana Gay’s loom at her home in Lake Helen, Florida. She showed me her basket of wool strips and her current project on the loom and basically set me loose. She let me PLAY and didn’t worry that I was going to mess up her carefully hooked designs!
After that, I was primarily self-taught and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and, later, rudimentary quiltmaking while I was pursuing a BS and MS in nursing. Many classes and years later, I fell in love with improvisational quiltmaking and felt the pull to work larger. Aging, however, does bring a rude reality check to one’s own physical limitations, and I now work primarily with paint and paper and glue on paper and canvas. The freedom to PLAY, once again
